Manoj Kapoor has been appointed as chief executive officer, enGen (previously Thryve Digital Health), which has a dedicated GCC for a leading US health insurance plan and hospital network. Kapoor was earlier serving as vice president-growth and transformation, Providence India, based out of Hyderabad.
An alumnus of Delhi University, Manoj Kapoor worked as a technical sales representative in the initial 16 months of his career. In 1994 he moved to SHCIL Services as executive officer for over a year and a half before joining the National Stock Exchange of India, as assistant manager for four years. Then followed a short stint with Outlook Money as manager-internet division after which he joined Perot Systems as associate director in December of 2000.
In between he managed to complete an MBA in finance from the Faculty of Management Studies, in 2001. After spending almost nine years with Perot Systems, he switched to Dell Services, Healthcare Group, in October of 2009. For the next two and a half years, he led a team of clinicians, technology experts, and EMR specialists to deliver a complex clinical transformation and EMR implementation programme for a chain of multi-specialty hospitals in India.
May of 2012 saw Manoj Kapoor take up the role of director, consulting services, CGI. Two years later, he joined Edifecs as India head-professional services (senior director).
From 2015 to 2017 he was vice president-investments, RoundGlass, a healthcare focussed VC fund.
His next stop was Optum where he joined as VP and head-product engineering and product management, Optum Global Solutions. Over four and a half years into this role, he was promoted to VP-technology and head of Optum Startup Studio India, in November 2021.
It was in October of 2022 that his association with Providence India began as VP-growth and transformation.
Now, in his new assignment at enGen, Manoj Kapoor will lead enGen’s operations in India and drive its expansion as a centre of excellence for value delivery, innovation and client success.
Shrinivas Ayyagari, enGen’s CHRO in India is relying on Kapor’s “deep expertise in healthcare technology and his proven ability in scaling businesses and leading transformation” to lead enGen’s next chapter. Ayyagiri is that Kapoor;s “leadership and guidance” will strengthen the company’s “impact for clients, partners and the global healthcare ecosystem”.
