    NSDL appoints Vijay Chandok as MD & CEO

    Vijay Chandok has joined NSDL as its new managing director (MD) and CEO of National Securities Depository (NSDL). In this role, Chandok will guide the organisation through a transformative phase. His primary focus will be on enhancing market operations and delivering secure, efficient, and innovative solutions for stakeholders.

    He brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience to the role. His expertise lies in corporate finance, relationship management, credit risk, credit analysis and risk management.

    Prior to this, Chandok held key positions at ICICI Securities and ICICI Bank. He began his professional journey with ICICI Bank in the year 1993. He joined as a management trainee and transitioned into the role of general manager. In the year 2010, he was elevated to the role of president and in 2016 he served as the executive director for the Bank.

    After a successful 26-year long stint with ICICI Bank, Chandok moved to ICICI Securities in the year 2019. He essayed the role of managing director for over five years. In this role, he played a crucial part in driving strategic growth and fostering innovation in financial services.

    Chandok holds a master’s degree in Management Studies from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). He also has an engineering degree from IIT Bhubaneswar. This combination of strong academic credentials and vast industry experience positions him to advance NSDL’s strategic objectives. His leadership is expected to help NSDL maintain its leading role in the financial services sector.
