After a successful six-year long tenure with Mastercard, Priti Singh has moved to Universal Sompo General Insurance, as chief people officer (CPO).
Singh, who began her professional journey in 1995, has close to three decades of experience under her belt. After spending over five years of her initial years with various companies, she served Panalpina as head-human resources, South Asia, from 2001 to 2006. She then spent over a year with a US-based KPO, First Rain, as head-HR, India.
The year 2007 saw her moving to Toronto, Canada, as vice president-head-human resources, global delivery centre, AXA XL, a division of AXA. This stint gave her diverse exposure and a chance to lead teams and partner with gobal leadership in strategy execution, for more than two and a half years.
Her next stop was Sun Life Financial, in June 2010, as vice president-head human resources-Asia Service Centres. This assignment saw her working from Manila, Philippines and Gurgaon, India serving as the principal cultural and human resources architect for Asia Centres. She also successfully led the development of a formal Human Resources and Learning & Development strategy that was aligned with business goals and global HR strategy.
March 2014 to 2017 was witness to Singh playing head-human resources, HR systems leader, Asia Pacific, as Suntory Global Spirits, based out of Gurugram, Haryana.
It was in July 2017 that her association with Mastercard began. For the first two years and eight months, she was vice president-HR-South Asia, working from Mumbai. In 2020, she was elevated to senior vice president, head people and capability, South Asia. Less than two and a half into this role came another promotion that lifted her to the post of head people and capability, eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
An alumna of the Institute of Productivity and Management, and Ecole Belge, Lubumbashi, Congo, Singh is known for her authentic and collaborative style of leadership. Her domain knowledge and industry connections will stand her in good stead in her latest assignment at Universal Sompo General Insurance, joint venture of Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Karnataka Bank, Dabur Investments, and Sompo Japan Insurance.
