FedEx has appointed Rumana Rahman as its new vice president-human resources for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Her appointment will be effective March 2025.
In this role, Rahman will be based in Singapore and will lead the company’s HR strategy across key markets, including China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand in addition to Singapore. Her role will cover the HR needs of about 28,000 employees across these regions.
In her new position, Rumana will report directly to the SVP-HR at FedEx.
She will be expected to advance the company’s ‘One FedEx’ transformation journey. This initiative aims to create a unified HR strategy and streamline operations across APAC, promoting stronger collaboration and consistency across regional offices.
Prior to this, Rahman was associated with British American Tobacco for over 24 years. She served as the regional head-talent, culture, and inclusion for the company’s Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) regions. She joined the company in the year 2001.
Rahman holds a BBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka. Her expertise lies in crafting meaningful HR policies, performance management, employee relations, talent management and cross-functional leadership development.
