Saurov Ghosh appointed CHRO, Supreme Industries

After spending over four years heading human resources for the National Stock Exchange of India, Saurov Ghosh has joined Supreme Industries as chief human resources officer (CHRO). Before joining the plastics manufacturing company, Ghosh has spent the last two decades in the HR domain across sectors such as insurance, banking and manufacturing.

Having started his professional journey with CEAT Tyres in 1994, where he joined as manager – employee relations, Ghosh spent over six years managing IR, union negotiations and even employee training at the tyre company.

He moved to Kirloskar Pneumatic Co. as factory manager in 2000. Over two years into this stint, he switched to the insurance sector.

Ghosh joined HDFC Life as manager – human resources, managing HR for over 800 employees pan India for the customer service and operation / processing verticals. By the time he became chief manager – HR, he was formulating and executing business HR strategy across the organisation. After a successful stint of almost five years at HDFC, Ghosh switched to the banking sector.

In 2007, Ghosh joined YES Bank as senior vice president – human resources, retail banking, for a very short stint of five months, before taking up a role as head and executive VP – HR and training, at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. During his long tenure of over six years there, Ghosh successfully lead and drove the organisation’s people strategy as a business partner.

From 2014 to 2017, he served as CHRO – textiles, spinning and acrylic fibre at Aditya Birla Group. He was entrusted with strategising and driving HR and transformation interventions across the three businesses, across geographies and diverse cultures to integrate and deliver a common employee experience as brand Aditya Birla Group.

His next stop was National Stock Exchange of India, where he joined as group head – HR in November, 2017.

A postgraduate in personnel management and human resources from JDC Bytco IMSR, Pune University, Ghosh has also studied labour laws and labour welfare from NBT Law College, Pune University.
