    Star Health elevates COO & CMO to whole-time directors

    Both Amitabh Jain and Himanshu Walia are also designated as key managerial personnel

    Star Health and Allied Insurance, the Indian retail health insurance company has elevated its chief operating officer (COO) and chief marketing officer (CMO) to whole-time directors and designated them as key managerial personnel. Their appointment/elevation will come into effect on the date the approval is received from Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

    Amitabh Jain, who is COO, has more than 25 years of experience in financial services. He became COO in 2023. He was earlier a founding member of ICICI Lombard and is known for his deep understanding of operational excellence and strategic growth. He holds an engineering degree, and an MBA, and is a CFA charter holder.

    Himanshu Walia, CMO, is backed by more than 22 years of experience in the insurance space. He has been an integral part of Star Health Insurance since 2007, serving as the CMO, and has made significant contributions to building the company’s brand and market presence. He held senior positions at ICICI Lombard and Tata AIG before joining Star Health. He holds an MBA in marketing.

    Clearly, the company is focused on enhancing leadership depth and driving future growth through experienced and visionary professionals.

    Star Health Insurance has a strong multi-channel distribution network with 913 offices, with 14,000+ network hospitals, over 7,75,000 licensed agents, robust bancassurance and financial institution partners, and 17,000 employees. In FY25, Star Health’s gross written premium stood at Rs.17,553 crore with its net worth at Rs.8,668 crore.
