Swiggy, the Indian on-demand convenience platform has promoted Saurav Goyal to senior vice president-driver and delivery product & operations. He has been with Swiggy since July 2022, having joined as vice president-business finance. Over two years into this role, he had been elevated to senior vice president-business finance.
Goyal, who holds a master’s degree in Advanced Economics from University of Antwerp, has also completed an MBA in finance and operations from Goa Institute of Management.
Back in 2006, Goyal started off as a humble summer intern with Tata Communications. In 2007, he joined the organisation as assistant manager-financial planning and analysis (DFM-network engineering). Two years into this role, he was elevated to assistant manager-financial planning and analysis (DFM-network engineering and IT systems). He became manager by 2010 and senior manager by 2012, working out of Singapore. When he moved on from Tata Communications after a tenure that lasted almost nine years, Saurav Goyal had reached the position of associate director-financial planning and analysis (DFM-global network, cloud & data centre BU).
Returning to Bangalore in 2016, his next stop was Flipkart, where he joined as director, business finance.
From 2018 to 2020, he was associated with Ola as senior director-business finance.
It was in July of 2020 that his association with Swiggy began. Since then he has been instrumental in achieving Swiggy’s goals over the years, by driving outcomes in partnership with the business leaders.
In his elevated role, Goyal will now head the Driver and Delivery Org and spearhead initiatives aimed at empowering delivery partners who are one of the key pillars of Swiggy’s ecosystem, in line with the company’s focus on developing internal talent and building a future-ready organisation.
According to Girish Menon, CHRO, Swiggy, Goyal’s elevations “underscores our belief in nurturing our internal talent and building leaders, for today and the future.”
Goyal will continue to head business finance also till a replacement is found.
