Backed by over three decades of leadership experience, Zarin Daruwala has taken up the role of group CEO, PL Capital Group (Prabhudas Lilladher). She moves from Standard Chartered India, where she had been serving as chief executive officer, leading companywide changes and implementing strategic growth initiatives for nine years. At Standard Chartered, she helped the bank focus on sustainability in financing with special attention to wealth technology and corporate banking.
She has essayed various senior roles at ICICI Bank, where she also headed the wholesale banking business during her over two decade long tenure there.
Zarin Daruwala was added to the board of directors at PhonePe at a time when the company was preparing for its IPO. The board at the time already had big names such as John Davi Rainey, Leigh Hopkins and Donna Morris of Walmart associated with it. Rohit Bhagat, chairman, along with Sameer Nigam and Rahul Chari, co-founders of PL Capital Group were also part of this board.
In her latest assignment at PL Capital, Zarin Daruwala will guide the brokerage firm’s growth strategy and help it scale its operations across broking, wealth, asset management, institutional equities, investment banking, corporate advisory, and private credit.
