    June witnessed 11% rise in fresher hiring in India

    32% increase in overall hiring in the insurance space, with 59% hike in fresher hiring

    The month of June 2025 saw a growth of 11 per cent in fresher hiring, with strongest demand in the fields of accounting, insurance, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The maximum increase in hiring (32 per cent) was witnessed in the insurance with a 59 per cent jump in fresher hiring. The increase in hiring in the accounting and finance space is 34 per cent more that it was during the same time last year. Unicorns in the banking and finance space also increased hiring (30 per cent more than June of 2024).

    As per the Naukri JobSpeak report youngsters seem to be making a beeline for the non-tech jobs.

    Coimbatore is drawing the maximum youngsters as a hub for freshers, with 24 per cent hike in fresher hiring in June. As per the report, experience professionals were in high demand (15 per cent more than last year). There was 15 per cent rise in jobs that required 13 to 15 years of experience. There was similar growth in jobs demanding more than 16 years of experience, primarily in the fields of real estate and pharma/biotech.

    The metro cities are witnessing a hiring jump amongst startups, particularly across Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune. Architecture and interior design jobs also grew by 50 per cent compared to the same period last year. There was also a 21 per cent growth in hospitality and travel jobs compared to the same time in 2024. About 19 per cent rise in jobs was seen in the BPO/ITES industry, with smaller (tier-2) cities such as Jaipur and Baroda hiring 64 per cent and 54 per cent more, respectively.
