    Manish Gupta elevated to India president and MD, Dell Technologies

    Gupta has been serving Dell for over 11 years now, with the last year and a half as VP & GM-global alliances, APJ&GC

    Dell Technologies has elevated Manish Gupta as president and managing director for India, with immediate effect. He will report to Peter Marrs, president, Asia Pacific Japan & Greater China (APJC), Dell Technologies.

    Gupta has been with Dell since 2014. He had moved to Dell from IBM after a tenure that lasted over seven years.

    An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, Gupta actually began his professional journey as a humble sales manager with IBM’s personal computing division, in the year 2000. Little less than four years into this role, he moved to Lenovo as general manager-products, enterprise business.

    He was back with IBM in 2007, beginning a long association of over seven and a half years. He joined as brand leader- System x, India/South Asia. In January of 2011, he was elevated to country manager-Geo Expansion, Systems & Technology Group (STG). By 2012 he had climbed to the position of associate director-volume business, growth market unit.

    It was in 2014 that he moved to Dell Technologies. For a decade he served as vice president and general manager-data centre and compute solutions. May of 2020 saw him become a trustee. Since February of 2024 he has been playing vice president and general manager-global alliances, APJ&GC.

    Marrs believes that Gupta’s “exceptional blend of technical expertise, deep market understanding, and visionary leadership will be instrumental in driving growth and innovation.” According to him, Gupta’s “unwavering focus on customer success, partner collaboration, talent development, and innovation will further solidify Dell’s position as an industry leader.”

    Gupta himself is looking forward to “working with our customers and partners as they navigate change and drive an AI-powered future.”

    As he steps into the shoes of Alok Ohrie, HRKatha wishes Manish Gupta all the best in spearheading Dell’s strategic growth initiatives and driving sales in India.
