Artificial intelligence is not only helping employees with their work but also judging contests now. Google’s AI assistant, Gemini was the judge for the Ugly Sweater Contest organised to mark the end of the holiday season.
The contest saw Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google participating and sporting a cricket-themed sweater that caught the attention of social-media users.
This employee-engagement event was aimed at adding a bit of fun to the workplace.
Pichai himself posted pictures from the event, reflecting the popularity and quirkiness of the same. He chose to flaunt India’s favourite sport, cricket, which won the hearts of many on social media. Himself a cricket enthusiast, Pichai’s black sweater had the design of a cricket ball, bats and a Christmas tree.
Participants turned up in all kinds of sweaters in various unusual colours, designs and motifs.
The fact that Gemini was the judge for the contest was the highlight.
Google has reportedly been working on a new AI model with the ability to reason. This new ‘reasoning’ AI model can even explain the answers provided to various queries. Called ‘Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental’, the AI model is available in AI Studio, which is Google’s AI prototyping platform. Google’s new AI model is likely to be the best tool for reasoning, multimodal understanding and coding, say media reports. It will be a great help when it comes to math, physics and programming problems.
