Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as group chief strategy officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will also be part of the senior management team at Mahindra & Mahindra.

In the new role, Arya will head the group strategy office and work across Mahindra’s businesses to spot growth avenues, create value, and strengthen long-term competitive advantage. She will join the group executive board and report directly to Anish Shah, group CEO & managing director.

Announcing the appointment, Shah expressed delight. He stated that with over 20 years of experience in business leadership, strategy, and consulting across multiple industries, Shveta brings a strong track record of driving growth and navigating change. Her focus on inclusive progress aligns well with Mahindra’s purpose, and he is confident she will help them to unlock greater value across their portfolio.

Arya brings more than 23 years of experience across listed multinationals and top consulting firms, with exposure to automotive, travel, financial services, and telecom.

She joins from Cummins India, where she was the managing director. There she led business growth, customer focus, talent development, and a culture centred on ethics and inclusion. Before Cummins, she headed strategy and M&A at Thomas Cook India. Her consulting background includes roles at Kearney and Infosys.

Arya holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi University.

Beyond business, she is known for championing diversity and women’s empowerment. At Cummins, she sponsored a flagship programme aimed at creating meaningful impact for girls and women across India.

With this leadership addition, Mahindra Group is doubling down on strategy to accelerate growth across its diversified businesses.
