Over the past almost three years, Wells Fargo has been announcing a headcount reduction in the Des Moines area, Iowa. Now, reports say that the financial services company will let go 35 more workers from its Jordan Creek campus. This will bring the total number of job cuts to about 1,241 in the area.

Since April of 2022, the company has announced several reductions in headcount in Des Moines.

In May, as per the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN), the company had said it would be cutting 159 jobs in May, June and July. Now, the company has increased the number, adding 35 more.

As has been the practice with Wells Fargo, the company has stated that it will help the impacted employees to find suitable roles in other divisions or outside the company. It will also provide the relevant support, including severance package and career counselling.

The exact divisions that will be affected by this round of job cuts is not yet known officially.

Early last month, that is, May 2025, Wells Fargo, had revealed plans to shut down its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai. The company had offered its Chennai employees the option to relocate to its other India locations—Bengaluru or Hyderabad.

The whole transition process at the American multinational financial services firm was to be completed by the fourth quarter of the financial year 2027.
