Infosys will hire 18,000 freshers from the campuses

The 229,000 strong workforce at Infosys, the technology company, will soon see an addition of 18000 freshers. The Indian software exporter will be hiring these freshers from campuses during this financial year.

Infosys has already hired 906 professionals during the first quarter. In 2018-19, the IT giant recruited about 8,000 employees, which comprised 2,500 freshers.

By March 2019, the Company hired 228,123 employees, of which 214,727 were reportedly taken on for delivery roles, but the attrition rate had risen for the Company, which offered more than ?10.2 million as annual salary each to about 60 employees within India. However, Infosys claims that this attrition did not impact the deliverables of the technology major in any way.

Following rejection of work visas, the number of employees getting visas to work in the US has dwindled significantly. In fact, TCS, Cognizant and Infosys have been the most affected by the visa restrictions. Infosys, therefore, offered jobs to 10,000 American employees by the end of June. The US accounts for 60 per cent of Infosys’ overall revenue.

Following in the footsteps of other IT companies, Infosys has increased local hiring in the US, the UK and Australia to handle the increasing restrictions and rigidity around work visas by various governments.

However, Infosys has more than 2,200 overseas Indian employees earning more than Rs 10 million a year. The Company has been concentrating on co-creating and co-innovating in collaboration with clients, academia and government to increase the pace of innovation and also upskill talent in emerging technologies and solutions.
