After a long and successful 38-year stint with Tata Group, Anjali Chatterjee, who served as the chief human resources officer at Air India Express (formerly known as Air Asia), has retired from the company. Chatterjee shared the news via a LinkedIn post wherein she also expressed gratitude towards her colleagues and friends who made her journey memorable throughout.

In the post, she also mentioned that she’s looking forward to this new chapter of her life and is very excited about the myriad opportunities that lie ahead. “The prospect of exploring new ventures or simply taking the time to enjoy life by reading, travelling and making new connections is exhilarating. I am profoundly grateful for these possibilities and look forward to embracing them wholeheartedly,” read her post.

Prior to this, Chatterjee served as the CHRO of AirAsia India. She joined the company in the year 2019 and was responsible to facilitate the creation and deployment of effective people strategy in line with business strategy.

She strongly believes that organisations with robust talent management and development strategies via cutting-edge technology deployment, enable stronger business outcomes by having talent that is better than the competition.

In 2003, Chatterjee joined Tata Communications as its VP-HR. For over 15 years she led the company’s global talent-management strategy along with employee development and engagement initiatives.

Chatterjee has also worked with other renowned companies such as LG Electronics, Zip Telecom and Jet Airways. Furthermore, she has worked across industries such as hospitality, service, manufacturing and telecom, and in locations such as Chennai, Bangalore Delhi and Mumbai.

Her passion lies in mentoring women and helping them unleash their talents to achieve success. “The world needs more women leaders, and I am committed to supporting and nurturing their growth,” she says.

Chatterjee holds a master’s degree in HRM and services from the Madras School of Social Work.
