Amara Raja Energy and Mobility (ARE&M), a company that provides comprehensive solutions in the energy and mobility space, has roped in Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan to play chief business officer-automotive, for India and SAARC. He moves from Hero MotoCorp where he was heading business growth (emerging mobility) for over three years.
Armed with a master’s degree in management studies (marketing) from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan joined Britannia Industries as a management trainee, in 1997. He was appointed area sales manager in 1998, based out of New Delhi. Just over two years into this role he was elevated to product manager, and worked out of Bangalore for two years. The next promotion in 2002 put him in the position of group product manager, in June of 2002. After a tenure that lasted over seven years, Radhakrishnan moved from Britannia to Marico India, in 2004. This role saw him working out of Mumbai for over three years, helping develop and reposition various brands.
Radhakrishnan’s next stop was Bharti Airtel where he played senior vice president-marketing and head-brand and media for over two and a half years, from September of 2007 to March of 2010.
His association with Nestle began in January of 2012, as marketing advisor, based out of Vevey, Switzerland. Eight months later, he was back in India, playing head of marketing and consumer communications, working out of Gurugram. In February of 2015 he was promoted to head of marketing and consumer communications and e-commerce, Nestle South Asia region. By the time he moved on from Nestle in July, 2018, he had reached the position of global project lead (marketing and communication), Nestec SA, Switzerland.
From August of 2018 to April of 2021, he was vice president-strategy and insights, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia. Then followed a stint with Emaar Group as group chief marketing officer (CMO) before he joined Hero MotoCorp as head of business growth (emerging mobility).
Now, at Amaraja, the makers of Amaron, Powerzone, and Quanta batteries, Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan will be responsible for driving the company’s marketing strategy in the region, strengthening brand positioning, and enabling business growth through integrated marketing initiatives.
