Tarun Sharma has taken up the role of chief product & technology officer, foundit, the job platform which was formerly known as Monster APAC & ME.
Sharma is an IIT-Ahmedabad alumnus who started his professional journey as a systems engineer with Wipro Systems, back in 1998. A year later, he moved to Headstrong as senior consultant, engineer. For six years, he successfully spearheaded the organisation’s entry into professional services consulting in the strategic workforce optimisation practice. He was also responsible for functional process mapping by understanding the industry domain, gathering and fine tuning requirements by engaging with domain experts, customers, SMEs and so on.
Sharma’s next stop was MIH India-ibibo, where he joined as senior product manager. In 2008, he joined Wipro Consulting Services (WCS), as senior manager for three years.
In 2011, Tarun Sharma moved to Yahoo as senior product manager-search distribution. Two years into this role, he was elevated to senior product manager-messenger platform.
From 2013 to 2015 he was associated with PayPal as senior product manager-demand generation. For the next two years, he successfully led the worldwide product management for incentive platform that powers coupons, vouchers, gift certificates, store credit and so on for Omni-Channel. The year 2016 saw him elevated to lead product manager-merchant activity and insights, PayPal.
He accepted the role of product manager: ASDA at Walmart Labs in 2018.
Next came a stint with Naukri.com, as executive vice president, product management, from 2019 to 2022. This role saw him relocating from Bengaluru to Noida. Three years later, he took up the role of head of product management, user and platform experience, AP Moller-Maersk.
He has been playing angel investor and advisor to Travel Buddy since 2021.
Now, at foundit, Tarun Sharma will lead product and technology innovation, driving the job platform’s mission to connect the right talent with the right opportunity through artificial intelligence or AI-led solutions across APAC and the Middle East.
