Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur has appointed Fr Paul Fernandes, SJ as the new director of the Institute with immediate effect. Fernandes will be succeeding Fr P Christie, SJ who has completed his term as the director.
Fr Fernandes is an alumni of XLRI Jamshedpur (Batch of 1986) and has worked at the Institute in many capacities. Apart from being a faculty member, he was also the financial controller at the Institute as well as the founder chairperson of the Father Arrupe Centre for Excellence (FACE), which is now rechristened as ‘FACES’. In the past, he has served as the director at the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) and was also the first vice chancellor of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB).
Fr Fernandes is an experienced researcher and a writer apart from being an educationist. Some of his well-known published works include Economic Ethics and the Moral Perspective of the Golden Rule; Business Ethics and Corporate Governance (4 books of 2 units each) and Corporate Governance.
Having earned his Phd degree in economics from KU, WWF Ingolstadt, Germany, Fr Fernandes has also completed his MSc in economics and an MA Licentiate in applied ethics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
