After a successful 15-year long tenure with Persistent Systems, Garima Singh has taken on the role of chief people officer, Orion Innovation.
Interestingly, Singh served in the Indian Army as major/captain for over five years, working in difficult and challenging situations. Armed with key lessons on strategic planning, motivation, learning & development, employee engagement and total rewards from her army stint, Singh began her corporate journey with Persistent Systems in 2009.
An alumna of XLRI Jamshedpur and the SRMS College of Engineering and Technology, Singh joined Persistent as manager-operations excellence, based out of Pune. Less than two years into this rule, she was elevated to the position of senior manager-compensation and benefits. Five years later came another promotion that put her in the role of head HR, digital business. For the next two years, she focused on strategic HR partnering to drive and sustain growth. She created the right culture, and helped coach and enable line managers to invest in people development and ensure engaged employees. She also helped develop the leadership pipeline for future growth.
In April 2018, Singh was elevated yet again, to the position of head HR, technology services, executives and sales units. Six years and eight months later, another elevation saw her relocating to New York City, to essay the role of head HR-North America. For the last almost six years, she had been playing the geo HR head for the US region along with heading the leadership hiring function for North America at Persistent.
In her latest assignment at Orion, the digital transformation and product development services firm, she will lead the global HR strategy, people engagement, talent acquisition, and employee-development initiatives. In India, Orion Innovation has offices in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi and Pune.
HRKatha is confident that Singh’s two decades of experience will be an asset to Orion and takes this opportunity to wish her all the best!
