Phoenix Mills has elevated Gautam Srivastava to chief human resources officer. He has been with the company since September 2023, as director and head-HR. Additionally, Srivastava will also lead technology and administration for the Group.

Srivastava has also studied at the Institute of Hotel Management from 1992-95. Naturally, his professional journey started with the hospitality industry, as management trainee with ITC Hotels. More than three and a half years later, he relocated from Hyderabad to Gurgaon, to join GE Capital as manager, in 2001.

Less than two and a half years later, he moved to Convergys as senior manager-HR and performance solutions. This stint lasted almost six and a half years.

From November 2007 to June 2011, he served as VP-learning, talent management, recruitment & OD (CoE), HSBC.

His next stop was Barclays, where he took on the role of head-talent acquisition and employee relations. For over a year, he successfully led end-to-end talent-acquisition operations, optimising recruitment processes and reducing costs while attracting top talent.

August of 2012 saw him essaying the role of VP-talent management and leadership development, at Max Life Insurance. This stint lasted more than four years. Then followed a year-long stint with ICG Medical, as head-HR, India.

Srivastava was associated with HDFC ERGO General Insurance as vice president-human resources for three years, from December 2017 to May of 2021.

He then relocated from Gurgaon to Mumbai, to join The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, as vice president and head-HR. Two years into this role, he moved to The Phoenix Mills, as director and head-HR.

In the one year that he has spent at Phoenix, Srivastava has introduced progressive initiatives that have redefined how Phoenix Mills attracts, engages and develops talent to create a dynamic and collaborative work culture.

Honoured to accept the promotion, Srivastava tells HRKatha that his “focus will be on making HR simpler, faster and better, bringing the human back to HR.” He admits to being “excited for the journey ahead as we foster a culture of growth and innovation, keeping our people at the heart of everything we do.”

Known to be a true coach and solution-oriented professional, he will continue to guide The Phoenix Mills through its period of modernisation, implementing people strategies that align with the company’s vision of becoming an employer of choice. HRKatha congratulates Gautam Srivastava on his promotion and wishes him luck.
