Alejandra Piñol has been elevated to chief human resources officer (CHRO) and global people and culture manager, Ingka Group, IKEA.

She sees this as a “privilege to continue contributing to our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people, together with our co-workers across the globe”.

Piñol’s association with the home furnishing brand began way back in 2011 when she joined as a human resources manager, at Barcelona, Spain. Three years into this role she was elevated to deputy CHRO, IKEA , Austria and relocated to Vienna. Another promotion two years later, that is, in 2016, made her CHRO, IKEA, China and saw her moving to Shanghai. Three years into this role, she was promoted yet again, to global deputy head of retail people and culture. In this role, she worked out of Malmo, Sweden. The next promotion came very quickly, making her global head of talent management in September of 2020.

From October 2022 to January of 2026, she had been playing deputy CHRO, people and culture at Ingka Group-IKEA and CHRO, IKEA Retail. Since March 2025 she had the additional role of deputy CHRO/deputy CHRO at Ingka Group/IKEA, based out of Netherlands.

Before joining IKEA, Alejandra Piñol was commercial development manager, Spain and Portugal for Swarovski. She spent over six years with Swarovski. In the initial years of her career, she was also associated with Siemens for over two years.

With this latest elevation at IKEA, Alejandra Piñol enters a new chapter and remains “committed to building on our strong foundation while embracing the opportunities ahead with determination and kindness”.
