    Jeremy Cooper appointed VP-marketing, APAC & Japan, Databricks

    Jeremy Cooper, who was leading marketing strategy and execution for Amazon Web Services (AWS) across Asia Pacific & Japan since 2023, has now joined Databricks, the Data and AI company, as vice president, marketing, Asia Pacific and Japan.

    Backed by over two decades of experience, Cooper joins Databricks at a time the company is growing in the region and the demand for data and artificial intelligence (AI) is also surging.

    Cooper has worked with Edelman for two years in Sydney in the initial years of his career. He then moved to CA Technologies, as marketing director, Australia and New Zealand. He was elevated to regional director-marketing, interBiz Asia Pacific, in 1999. Siebel Systems appointed him senior field marketing manager, Asia (SEA, India, Greater China and Korea), in 2001. He worked our of Singapore for three years.

    His next stop was Oracle, where he served as senior director, market development and sales operations, Asia Pacific, from 2004 to 2006.
    Salesforce roped him in for the role of regional vice president, marketing, Asia Pacific and Japan, in January of 2006. Two and a half years later, Cooper was elevated to vice president, corporate marketing, NAMER & LATAM field programmes and global campaigns. His tenure at Salesforce lasted almost five years.

    In 2010 Jeremy Cooper began a long association with Google. He joined as director and head of enterprise marketing, Asia Pacific and Japan. In less than two years he was elevated to director and head of global product marketing, Google for Work and Google for Education, based out of San Francisco Bay Area.

    By January of 2015 he was elevated to managing director, global marketing, Google Cloud Platform.
    From 2016 to 2021 he was associated with LinkedIn as vice president, global marketing, working out of San Francisco Bay Area.

    Clear Dynamics saw him playing chief marketing officer and investor in July of 2021. He was also advisor to found and CEO/CMO, OpenComp for four years.

    It was in June of 2023 that he came to be associated with AWS where he oversaw regional go-to-market strategy and drove strong pipeline and growth across enterprise, public sector, partner and startup segments.

    Now, in his latest role at Databricks, Cooper will lead APJ marketing strategy and execution, expanding Databricks’ presence and driving revenue growth and pipeline generation across the region.

    Joseph Puthussery, vice president of global demand generation & field marketing, Databricks, is relying on Cooper’s “rare mix of deep cloud experience, brand-building expertise, and a great blend of regional and global experience” to help build a “world-class marketing organisation in APJ and accelerate the next phase of our growth in this strategically important region.”

    Cooper himself is looking forward to “the opportunity to help customers build systems of intelligence on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform”.
