OPG Mobility (formerly Okaya EV), a leading name in India’s electric mobility space, has announced the appointment of Maharana Ray as its new president & chief growth officer (CGO). With this leadership move, the company aims to accelerate its electric vehicle business expansion.

In his new role, Ray will spearhead efforts to unlock revenue growth, deepen distribution reach, strengthen the brand’s visibility, and form strategic partnerships. His appointment is a significant step in OPG Mobility’s ambition to lead India’s transition to clean mobility with innovative, high-performance EV solutions.

Ray brings over 20 years of cross-functional experience in the automotive, electric mobility and energy sectors. He joins OPG Mobility after a successful tenure as vice president, Chetak Electric (Bajaj Auto), where he played a pivotal role in driving nationwide network development, strategic planning, and customer- experience initiatives. Under his leadership, the brand significantly expanded its footprint across India.

Ray’s association with Bajaj Auto goes long back in 1997 when he first joined the company as its sales- training manager.

His vast industry knowledge, gained from managing operations in 16 countries, spans sales, service, spares, HR, and channel management. An alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, and trained at IIM Ahmedabad, Ray has been recognised for his leadership excellence through memberships in elite achievers’ networks.

Welcoming him aboard, Anshul Gupta, co-founder, OPG Mobility, said Ray’s appointment aligns with the company’s growth ambitions. He believes, “His industry insights, customer-centric focus, and hands-on experience will drive stronger execution across our EV verticals.”

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ray stated, “OPG Mobility’s mission to deliver inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready electric mobility solutions deeply resonates with me. I look forward to scaling our operations, driving growth across domestic and global markets, and building OPG into a trusted EV leader.”
