Gopal Krishna Sinha has been selected for the role of director-HR, Troop Comforts or TCL, a Schedule ‘B’ Central PSU.
He was chosen out of nine candidates by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB). His appointment will be officially implemented once the necessary clearances and approvals are obtained.
Presently, GK Sinha is serving as the assistant general manager (HR), Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL).
A science graduate from Lucknow University, Sinha also completed an MBA in HR and marketing from the same university in 1994.
In 1995, Gopal Krishna Sinha’s long association with Bharat Heavy Electricals began as an executive trainee. A year later, he was elevated to personnel officer for over five years. In December 2000 he relocated to Haridwar area on being promoted to senior personnel officer. Four years and seven months into this role came another promotion that put him in the post of deputy manager (HR). Three years later, he was promoted yet again. This time he became manager, human resources.
The year 2011 saw GK Sinha relocating to New Delhi with a promotion. He played senior manager (HR) for over three years before being elevated once again to deputy general manager.
June of 2017 was witness to Sinha taking on the role of senior DGM (HR). By the time he moved on from BHEL in 2020, he had become assistant general manager (HR).
From September 2020 to 2022, Sinha served as general manager (HR), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
September 2022 saw him back at BHEL as additional general manager (HR).
He has been successfully playing strategic business partner to general and top management; providing guidance on how to drive employee engagement and productivity while limiting legal risk exposure through strong knowledge of employment law. He has conducted wage negotiations and signed long-term agreements in a multi-union situation (LTAs). He has been actively involved in improving the onboarding of new hires and training processes. This has not only helped improve retention but also saved costs.
He has also identified and capitalised on opportunities for change and carefully managed changes even while providing extensive counselling and guidance. His efforts have helped ensure the development, and consistent application of HR policy, recognition and reward and HR standards across the division. He has been using his knowledge and expertise to skillfully manage staffing and performance-improvement issues; and supervisee leadership and management team development at BHEL.
