Arvind has announced the appointment of Ramkishore R as assistant vice president-human resources & industrial relations (AVP – HR & IR), heading the garments business. The company said the move reinforces its commitment to strengthening people leadership and aligning workforce strategy with business growth.
In his new mandate, Ramkishore will lead HR and IR functions for Arvind’s garments division. He will focus on talent management, employee engagement, leadership development and building a performance-driven culture. The company noted that his expertise will also support harmonising industrial relations and driving organisational effectiveness across manufacturing and business units.
Ramkishore R brings a 16-year track record in HR across large manufacturing and consumer businesses. He joins Arvind from Coats, where he served as ER head India from August 2024 to July 2026. In that role, he was tasked by leadership to stabilise and transform HR and ER operations during a complex restructuring across six plants in Tamil Nadu, with responsibility for compliance, union engagement and restoring workforce trust.
Before Coats, Ramkishore R was the HR head India manufacturing at General Mills India from January 2023 to July 2024 in Nashik. There, he managed HR governance for a rapidly-expanding multi-plant network, led the setup of a new facility, and embedded digitised HR practices. From November 2021 to January 2023, he was the factory HR manager at Reckitt, Mysore, where he provided HR leadership during divestment and restructuring across four plants with over 2,500 employees.
Earlier, he worked as manager – HR at United Breweries, Hyderabad, from Feb 2018 to Feb 2019, and as Manager HR & IR, business partner at Tata Power Solar Systems, Bengaluru. During his four-year tenure, he supported HR, IR and compliance for India’s largest solar manufacturing ecosystem across three factories and 14 EPC/O&M sites.
He began his career with roles at Kalpa Electrikal, SYSCAP India and Advik Hi-Tech between 2010 and 2014, building foundational HR systems and employee relations frameworks.
With this appointment, Arvind aims to leverage Ramkishore’s cross-industry experience to drive workforce excellence in its garments business.
