Rishi Raj Gupta, who has been with Meta since 2017, has stepped down from the position of HR head, India and director-HR, APAC, Meta.

As part of Meta’s India leadership team, he led HR for all functions and teams based in India—across all Meta family of apps, that is, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Additionally, he also led HR for the legal, public policy and communications teams for the Asia-Pacific region.

An alumnus of the Indian School of Business and the Delhi School of Economics, Gupta has worked with RPG Enterprises from 2005 to 2008, initially as zonal head-human resources (North India) and then as senior manager-HR, RPG Enterprises Group Companies.

In November 2008, he joined Walmart as deputy general manager and region head-people.

His next stop was Accenture Management Consulting, in 2013, as manager-talent and organisation. This stint lasted only nine months.

In January of 2014, he joined Cipla as HR leader-India business. This role saw him essaying an HRBP role, and playing HR business leader-North, South and UP business units, to almost 7,000 employees. During his tenure, he led two centres of excellence (COEs) for the India business.

As a part of Cipla’s core HR leadership team, Gupta focused on HR transformation, providing consultative and strategic partnering efforts, helping business leaders maximise organisational performance. He helped develop a people-oriented organisation culture that emphasises high performance, care and collaboration.

Known to be a great leader and mentor, Rishi Raj Gupta has been part of the Meta India leadership team for over seven years now.
