ESDS Software Solution has elevated Sajiv Nair to chief information officer (CIO) and chief information security officer (CISO). It is expected that Nair’s elevation will help the Indian managed cloud services company strengthen its position as a comprehensive provider of cloud, IT security and managed services.

With almost three decades of experience backing him, Sujiv Nair will oversee the strategic direction of information technology and security strategies of ESDS. He will also lead the initiatives in business processes, implementation of efficient cybersecurity measures, and integration of IT projects with business processes. He is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening ESDS’s suite of cloud, mnanaged services, and IT security solutions with advanced cloud-based security to enable businesses to function seamlessly and effortlessly in a protected and efficient IT environment.

Nair began his career with HCL, as an engineer, in 1994. He moved to Tatanet-Nelco as engineer in 1996. In 1998, he joined Hughes Escorts Communications as senior project engineer. Three years into this role, he moved again, to join Bharti Broadband Networks as technical manager.

July of 2001 saw him back at Tatanet-Nelco as network consultant. After a three-year long stint there, Nair switched to Apara Enterprise Solutions, as specialiast-IN. For over a year, he headed pre-sales for the intelligent networking business unit in the western region, before moving to Bharti Airtel.

This stint with Bharti lasted a year and nine months, during which he worked out of Africa, as operations manager. He was on deputation on an outsourced project as the technical operations head for an ISP and service provider with operations in Mozambique and Angola, providing services over VSAT and wireless across Africa.

By June of 2007, he was back in Mumbai, India, as Bharti Airtel’s senior manager-international projects.

From 2008 to 2010, he did a second innings with Apara Enterprise Solutions, as presales consultant, before being elevated to product manager-intelligent networking and enterprise security.

August of 2011, saw Dell India welcoming Nair as networking product specialist. By 2013, he was elevated to networking planning engineer/network consultant.

His next stop was InMobi, as director-network & security engineering, for a year and four months. This was followed by a year-long stint with GlobalLogic, as director-engineering (Polaris Wireless Project).

It was in July, 2018 that his association with ESDS Software Solutions began, as head-managed security services, network operations and data-centre management. Less than three years into this role, he played assistant VP-network and security operations, Jio Platforms.

In June 2022, he was back at ESDS as assistant CTO and head-managed services.

Nair feels “privileged to be in a place where I get to lead the change for an organisation that has, beyond question, transformed the cloud, IT security, and managed services.” He is looking forward to “to creating a future-ready IT ecosystem that drives innovation, enhances operational efficiency, and supports the seamless integration of emerging technologies-all while maintaining the highest levels of security and performance for our customers.”.

With this elevation, Sajiv Nair will continue to further consolidate the position of ESDS as a valuable service provider.

Piyush Somani, founder, CMD, and CEO, ESDS, is confident that with Nair “ranked among the top 10 cybersecurity experts in the country,” this promotion “further strengthens ESDS’s goal of becoming a leader in the nation’s IT and cybersecurity sectors.”

Somani is relying on Nair’s “outstanding experience in leading managed services and his extensive technical knowledge…to guide ESDS’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity strategies.” He admits how Nair’s leadership over two years has already “played a pivotal role in our most significant achievements, and his ability to motivate and guide his teams is unparalleled, solidifying his position as a visionary in the technology industry.”
