Vedanta-Sterlite Copper, a global mining and metals company & key business unit within Vedanta, has appointed Saty Jyot Kaur as its new chief human resources officer. Kaur will look after the company’s unit in Silvassa, Daman & Diu.
In the new role, she will spearhead human capital transformation efforts. Known for her strong background in human resources and her ability to drive impactful people strategies across large industrial setups, Kaur’s appointment signals Vedanta’s commitment to strengthening its HR function.
Prior to this, Kaur was associated with Hindustan Zinc for close to seven years. She joined the company in the year 2018 as its human resources business partner-SK Mines. In 2020, she was promoted to the role of head-HR for the company’s Rajpura Daribs Mines. Most recently, she held the role of HR head for the company’s Sindesar Khurd Mine. At Hindustan Zinc, she led key initiatives focused on workforce development, succession planning, and the digitisation of HR processes across major mining operations.
Kaur began her professional journey with Tata International as an HR intern, gaining hands-on exposure in HR operations and systems. She joined in the year 2017.
Her expertise lies in succession planning, people development, HR analytics, performance management, training and development, employer branding and compensation and benefits.
