Neha Mathur, chief human resource officer at Urban Company, has stepped down after a tenure of five years and four months. She joined the tech-enabled home services marketplace in April 2021 as SVP – HR and later moved up to lead the people success function.

Mathur’s exit comes as Urban Company continues to scale operations and empower millions of service professionals through at-home services. During her time, she was credited with building people-centric policies, driving diversity and inclusion, and creating systems to support a high-performing workforce.

Mathur brings 18+ years of experience across global organisations. Before Urban Company, she was head HR for IndiaSA and Korea Ridesharing at Uber from Oct 2018 to Mar 2021, where she focused on building an inclusive culture and innovative people practices for a multi-faceted workforce. She was also part of Uber’s IndiaSA Regional leadership team and the APAC People leadership team. She also served on the Global Women at Uber Board.

Prior to that, she spent three years as HR business partner at General Electric from 2015-2018. She then worked for 7.5 years at Accenture as principal in management consulting from 2008-2015. Her earlier stints include Reckitt Benckiser as HR manager from 2006-2008, where she was business partner for sales and marketing, and The Coca-Cola Company as assistant HR manager from 2003-2006, as HR business partner for sales.

Her experience spans FMCG, automotive, telecom, energy and consulting, with exposure to geographies including North America, Nordics, UK, Singapore, Australia and India.

Mathur holds a Master’s in Arts from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from College of Business Studies, Delhi University. She is also a Certified Insights Discovery practitioner.

Urban Company has not named a successor yet.

HRKatha wishes Neha Mathur all the best for her future endeavours!
