A year into this role as director-communications & HR, he was elevated to GM corporate and head HR in 2001. He spent almost six years with the company before moving on to Wells Fargo in 2007.

For a little less than seven years, he was associated with Wells Fargo as senior VP-HR, head HR, India and the Philippines.

His next stop was EY GBS, in 2014. He joined as director, talent leader GDN (India, the Philippines, Poland, Argentina and China). During his tenure, he designed and created a global leadership pipeline programme as part of the talent ‘build’ strategy.

July of 2016 saw him taking on the role of senior vice president-HR, Hinduja Global Solutions. He successfully led the HR function for India operations for five and a half years.

Then followed a short stint with Sagility (formerly HGS Healthcare), where he was SVP and HR head, India and the Philippines and global OD leader.

It was in June 2023 that he joined Gloplax solutions.

In his latest assignment at Zeta, he will oversee all people and workplace related functions for the 1700+ employees of the company globally. He will drive people strategy, help enhance organisational culture and lead  talent management initiatives to support the company’s growth in the banking technology domain globally.

Bhavin Turakhia, co-founder & global CEO, Zeta, who believes in the “ philosophy that ‘People Must Grow’ to connect our employees’ aspirations with opportunities, is delighted to have Sengupta as part of the team “to further shape this narrative.”

“Given Sengupta’s 25+ years of  experience in building high-performing organisations in the banking and financial services industry,” Ramki Gaddipati, co-founder, APAC CEO, and Global CTO, Zeta is “excited to leverage his expertise as we strengthen our talent systems, processes, and strategy to build the modern banking technology powering millions of global customers.”

Sengupta himself feels privileged “to join the best team of visionaries and product builders ever assembled in the banking-tech space globally.”
