3M has appointed Jennifer Cunningham as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective August 2026. She succeeds in leading the company’s global HR organisation at a time when the science-based manufacturer is doubling down on innovation and workforce culture.
Her most recent role was vice president, human resources for Global Commercial, North America and LATAM, a position she held from February 2025 to August 2026. In that capacity she oversaw HR for Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM’s) worldwide commercial businesses with full regional responsibility.
Prior to that, from January 2018 to June 2025, she served as vice president, global HRBP for Ag Services & Oilseeds, Carbohydrate Solutions, and Manufacturing. She provided strategic HR leadership across multiple business segments during a period of significant portfolio change for ADM.
Her ADM career graph shows steady advancement through corporate and business HR roles. Between 2016 and 2018 she was head of global rewards in corporate HR, managing strategy and design for compensation programmes. From 2014 to 2016 she was director, North American talent acquisition & corporate HR. She then led employee benefits and HR for Corporate and Oilseeds from 2013 to 2014. Earlier roles include director, corporate HR from 2011 to 2013; manager, corporate HR from 2008 to 2011; manager, HR at the Decatur Corn Processing Plant from 2005 to 2008; and manager, corporate HR administration/HRIS from 2003 to 2005. She also worked at Lowe’s Companies earlier in her career.
In her announcement, Cunningham said she is energised to join 3M as it builds on differentiated science and iconic innovation. She noted plans to listen to 3Mers globally and help build a culture where people can do their best work and turn innovation into performance.
