Falcon Marine Exports has elevated Anil Mohanty to group chief human resources officer (CHRO), effective 1 June 2026. He has been serving the Indian aquaculture company specialising in the production, processing, and export of fresh and frozen seafood, especially shrimp.

Armed with an MBA in Human Resources Management from the Institute of Marketing and Management, Mohanty joined Idea Cellular as senior manager-HR, in 1996.

He spent over a decade and a half with Idea Cellular before moving to Tata Teleservices in 2007, as circle HR head, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. For over a year and a half he successfully handled the entire gamut of HR—such as talent acquisition, talent retention, training & development, employee engagement, employee communication, HR operations, and performance management—working out of Bhopal.

Mohanty’s next stop was Huawei Telecommunications India where he headed HR for the Service and Delivery business for a short while before switching to Telenor. As HR business partner & deputy general manager-HR at Telenor, he spent the next three and a half years managing the entire operations and corporate affairs team across all circles to drive sustained growth and happiness among employees.

From September 2012 to July 2017 Anil Mohanty served as regional HR head at AVP level at Reliance Jio Infocomm UK, working out of Gurugram. He then relocated to Mumbai in August of 2017 to head HR for Reliance Jio’s Rural Segment business-Pan India. He was entrusted with the task of building the North Region Team and hiring more than 20000 people for what was probably the world’s largest greenfield telecom project.

Medikabazaar roped him for the role of head of people and culture, in 2019. The next three and a half years were spent creating a culture of accountability and performance across the organisation, enabling the transformation of HR technology and digitisation of every touchpoint. He also designed and implemented HR automation strategies to enable efficiencies and data-driven decisions.

From May of 2024 to June of 2025 he was associated with DN Homes as chief people officer, based out of Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

It was in June of 2025 that he joined Falcon Marine Exports.

In his social-media post, Anil Mohanty says that in the latest GCHRO role, he looks forward to “further strengthening our people strategy, driving organisational growth, and fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity”.

HRKatha wishes him all the best in this endeavour!
