In a significant digital transformation initiative, LKQ Europe, a leading automotive aftermarket parts distributor, has partnered with Infosys to implement a comprehensive cloud-based human resources platform designed to harmonise operations across 18 countries. The move represents a strategic response to the growing complexity of managing a pan-European workforce in an increasingly digital business landscape.

The new digital platform, powered by Infosys Cobalt, leverages advanced analytics to provide real-time insights into critical human capital metrics, including employee engagement, performance management, and workplace planning. By consolidating HR processes, LKQ Europe aims to reduce operational costs, enhance regulatory compliance, and improve overall employee experience.

“Our collaboration with Infosys is a crucial step in harmonising and simplifying our wider business processes,” said David Brookfield, vice president – human resources, LKQ Europe. The platform will enable self-service capabilities and streamlined workflows, potentially fostering a more cohesive organisational culture across diverse European markets.

Jasmeet Singh, executive vice president and global head – manufacturing, Infosys, noted the strategic importance of the collaboration, highlighting the company’s expertise in digital transformation, data analytics, and cloud technologies.

The technology solution goes beyond traditional HR management, offering a unified approach to workforce development. By implementing cloud-based technologies, LKQ Europe seeks to create a more agile and responsive human resources infrastructure capable of adapting to the rapidly evolving automotive aftermarket industry.

With approximately 26,500 employees spread across more than 1,000 branches, the organisation faces significant challenges in maintaining consistent operational standards. The new digital platform addresses these challenges by providing a standardised approach to HR management that can be flexibly implemented across different national contexts.

The initiative reflects a broader trend of digital transformation in traditional industries. Companies are increasingly recognising that technological innovation extends far beyond product development, encompassing critical back-office functions such as human resources management.

As businesses continue to navigate the complexities of a globalised workforce, such comprehensive digital solutions are likely to become increasingly important. The ability to gain real-time insights, streamline processes, and create a more engaged workforce represents a critical competitive advantage in today’s rapidly changing business environment.
