Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO, Ola has made it very clear that action will be taken against employees with poor attendance. He has informed the employees of his alarming discovery that many members of the workforce have extremely poor attendance and has questioned their sense of self-respect.
He implied that by not coming in to work, employees are misusing the work-from-home-privilege, which is to be used only under genuine circumstances that demand the same. He pointed out how insulting and disrespectful absenteeism can be to the genuine employees who actually work hard and contribute meaningfully at work.
Aggarwal has conveyed to the workforce that the company intends to put stricter measures in place regarding attendance. Those who have been found to have abused the WFH flexibility will be contacted by the HR.
To those who blamed a snag in the facial-recognition system for flawed attendance data, Bhavish Aggarwal suggested not insulting “basic intelligence”.
Clearly, Aggarwal feels that the employees who have been misusing the flexibility offered by the company are bereft of self-resepct and have been shamelessly ‘fleecing’ Ola.
Recently, Bhavish Aggarwal had revealed ambitious plans for Ola Electric and intentions to make 2025 all about new products. He had indicated that the New Year will be dedicated to making the launch of ‘one product every month’ a reality. Ola is preparing to roll out its motorcycles in March 2025 and its next-gen scooters even earlier.
