Vanderlande, a global logistics process automation company, has launched its India Innovation Centre (IIC) in Pune. The new facility is designed as a collaborative space where engineers can co-create, test, and develop advanced solutions in areas such as robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and digital-physical integration. These innovations will support Vanderlande’s global customers across warehousing, airports, and parcel operations.
The opening of the IIC is a major milestone in Vanderlande India’s journey as a Global Capability Centre (GCC). With this addition, India has become the company’s second-largest technology hub worldwide, after the Netherlands. The centre reflects Vanderlande’s long-term commitment to nurturing talent, expanding high-value engineering roles, and driving innovation from India.
Spread across two acres, the Pune facility brings together research, development, training, and system testing under one roof. It enables teams to take ownership of the full engineering lifecycle, work on real-world applications, and strengthen their technical expertise. This environment not only supports global operations but also creates significant opportunities for employment and skill development in India’s technology sector.
Vanderlande India has already grown from a small support office into a 1,300+ member GCC, covering R&D, software development, engineering, and shared services. The new Innovation Centre represents the next stage of this evolution, moving beyond execution to innovation. It will generate more specialized roles, attract engineering talent, and contribute directly to the company’s worldwide automation projects.
By expanding its footprint in Pune, Vanderlande is reinforcing India’s role in its global innovation ecosystem while creating jobs and advancing technical skills. The centre is expected to play a key role in employment generation, offering engineers and professionals opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge automation solutions for industries worldwide.
