Amazon India has announced the creation of over 1.1 lakh seasonal jobs across the country in preparation for the upcoming festival season. The move is aimed at boosting employment while maintaining high service standards during the festive season.

The jobs, both direct and indirect, are being offered in several major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Chennai. These positions are aimed at ensuring fast and reliable deliveries for customers during this busy period.

As part of its hiring initiative, Amazon has employed thousands of women and around 1,900 persons with disabilities to promote diversity in its workforce. The company has expressed its commitment to providing timely deliveries to customers in all serviceable pin codes across India by strengthening its fulfilment and logistics network.

To support its employees, the company has also launched various initiatives. ‘Project Ashray’, for instance, provides dedicated rest stops for delivery associates in cities such Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The ‘Sushruta’ welfare programme focuses on healthcare support for truck drivers, offering health camps for early detection and diagnosis in selected areas. Additionally, the ‘Pratidhi Scholarship’ helps fund quality education for associates’ children.

Amazon India also offers various amenities such as onsite medical facilities and participates in government programmes to ensure employees are enrolled in schemes such as the E-Shram portal and Health ID under the PM Jan Aarogya Yojana. The company provides social-security benefits, including provident funds and insurance for accidents and injuries.
