The Board of Directors at Blue Dart Express has approved the promotion of Sagar Patil to the role of chief financial officer (CFO).
Patil has been associated with the express air and integrated transportation and distribution company since August of 2016. He had joined as corporate controller, all India and been promoted to head-corporate accounts within seven years.
According to Balfour Manuel, managing director, Blue Dart Express, Patil’s “deep understanding of Blue Dart’s business, combined with strong financial and strategic acumen, positions him well to lead the company’s finance function”. Manuel is “confident that under his stewardship, our finance function will continue to drive strategic value, enabling sustained growth and excellence for Blue Dart”.
A commerce graduate, Sagar Patil is also a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In the initial phase of his career, Patil spent three years serving as manager-finance, Owens Corning, from 1997 to 2000. He then moved to Shell to take up the role of manager-MI, Bharat Shell. Over four and a half years into this role, he was elevated to credit controller, Bharat Shell.
Patil’s next stop was DHL where he played finance manager, DHL Express India for almost two years before being promoted to CFO in April of 2008.
From 2014 to 2016, Sagar Patil was associated with Burger King India as finance controller.
Since August of 2016, Patil has been an integral part of the Blue Dart family, having held key leadership positions. He admits, “Blue Dart has played a significant role in my professional journey”, and looks forward “to contributing further to the company’s growth by driving robust financial strategies and supporting our continued leadership in the logistics industry”.
