The Fern Brentwood Mussoorie, an eco-friendly hotel, has appointed Gourab Biswas as its new head of human resources. He was earlier assistant manager, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, since October 2024.
Having completed a BTech in mechanical engineering, Biswas started off as a skills trainer at Don Bosco Tech Society, in 2017. His tryst with the hospitality industry began with Lords Hotels & Resorts, where he joined as human resources executive, in 2018, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Over a year later, he moved to Clarks Inn Group of Hotels, Bihar, as human resources manager. Then came a very short stint with Lion Lords Inn Rajula, Gujarat, as human resources manager.
It was in March 2021 that he joined Ramada Darjeeling, as human resources manager. After serving there for a little less than four years, Biswas relocated from Darjeeling to Uttarakhand to take up the position of assistant manager at The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Mussoorie.
Now, he has been roped in for the role of HR head, The Fern Brentwood Mussoorie. In this new role, Biswas will focus on employee engagement, talent development, and recruitment strategies that support the resort’s eco-conscious hospitality approach. His appointment reflects the property’s commitment to building a motivated team that upholds its vision of sustainable and people-centric hospitality.
His background across various sectors of the hospitality industry aligns with The Fern’s values of nurturing talent, promoting sustainability, and building a supportive workplace culture.
Relying on extensive expertise in people management and employee engagement, Gourab will lead efforts to strengthen the resort’s team and enhance guest experiences. He aims to “cultivate a work environment where the team feels empowered to deliver memorable guest experiences, while fostering collaboration, growth and sustainability.”
