After a successful entrepreneurial journey that lasted over a decade, Kiran Cherukari has been roped in for the role of executive vice president and GCC practice leader at HCLTech.

Armed with a BTech degree in electronics and communication, Kiran CHerukuri began his professional journey as a humble senior sales and customer support engineer, with ICNET and Mekaster Telecom, in 1993. Two years later, he moved to Global Tele Systems, as product specialist, data communications.

After a year, he moved again to join Crompton Greaves Informatics as major account manager, in 1996, working out of Hyderabad.

His next stop was HCL Technologies, in May of 1998. He joined as major account manager with HCL Comnet to accelerate their enterprise and sat-com business in Andhra Pradesh. He then got promoted to business entity manager in 2003. A year into this role he was elevated to deputy general manager, for HCL Tech’s infrastructure services.

By 2004, Kiran Cherukari was elevated to the position of head-APAC and ME (sales and global account management)-IT infrastructure services. A year and a half into this role came another promotion that made him general manager and business unit head. In October 2007, he became operations director and centre head. From 2009 to 2011, he served as global practice director, marketing, P&A (ETS) and centre head. By 2011, he had climbed to the position of associate vice president and global head, marketing, strategic alliances (ETS) and centre head.

Kiran Cherukari also served as regional council member, NASSCOM, for two years, from 2010 to 2012.

July of 2012 was witness to Cherukari taking up the role of vice president and group head-sales and BD (IMS), Europe, APAC and IMEA, Tech Mahindra.

For 14 years, from 2008 to 2022, he was associated with Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association as vice president/managing committee member. He also served as strategic business advisor to Qualitest for a year. He was board member, Lasting Infra Ventures, for over a decade.

His entrepreneurial journey began in March of 2015 when he launched his forward-thinking, AI-driven technology-consulting firm, TechEra IT Consulting, offering solutions to enterprises across India, Europe and the US.

Now that he is back in HCL Technologies, Cherukari is “thrilled to reconnect with past colleagues, friends, and mentors and excited to take on this GCC Leadership role, leverage my experience, and drive growth,”.
