LOTTE India—a subsidiary of Lotte Wellfood, a South Korean multinational confectionery and food company—has appointed Debabrata Mukherjee as MD for its ice cream division – Havmor Ice Cream. Mukherjee moves from Bata Bangladesh where he was managing director since 2023.
An alumnus of Presidency University, Kolkata, Debabrata Mukherjee holds an MBA in Marketing Management from IISWBM, University of Kolkata.
He kicked off his career with a stint as area sales manager at Hindustan Lever for four years, from 1994 to 1998.
He then began a long and successful association with Coca Cola India, joining as sales manager in June of 1998.
Three years into this role he was promoted to general manager, operations. By 2004 he had been promoted to general manager-marketing. Less than two years into this role he was elevated to director, marketing.
From 2007 to 2011, he served as marketing director, Coca Cola Korea. January of 2011 saw him taking on the role of vice president-strategy and innovation, Coca Cola India and South West Asia. Two years and nine months later, he was elevated to vice president-marketing and commercial, working out of Gurugram. From 2017 to 2018, he was vice president-South West Asia operations, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia.
From April of 2016 to January of 2018, Debabrata Mukherjee was also independent director and member of the board, ABP Group. From 2018 to 2019 he served as executive director, HT Media too.
It was in April of 2019 that he took up the role of chief marketing officer, United Breweries. More than three and a half years later, he switched to Emami Agrotech as chief marketing and strategy officer for a ten-month stint.
He joined Bata Bangladesh as managing director, in August of 2023.
In his new role at Havmor Icre Cream, Mukherjee will lead the strategic direction and business growth of LOTTE India’s ice cream portfolio, steering innovation and expansion for Havmor Ice Cream.
