After serving Vendanta’s Alumina Business for almost two years, Bikram Nayak has moved to NCC, the Indian infrastructure and construction conglomerate, as vice president-human resources.
Nayak brings close to three decades of experience to the table. He spent over 27y ears with Larsen & Toubro where he had joined as a humble executive (IR) in January of 1997. He was elevated to manager-personnel over five years later, in July of 2002. For the next six year, he handled corporate HR and OD functions, including HR policies, recruitment, manpower budgeting, P&A, training & development, outsourcing, CSR, as well as performance appraisal.
The next promotion in October of 2008 made him head of human resources-Engineering Design and Research Centre, B&F IC, and saw him move to Chennai from Bengaluru.
From 2012 to 2015, he served as head-talent management. Among other things he handled succession and career planning, compensation benchmarking and survey, as well as rewards strategy and recognition. From October of 2015 to August 2019, Nayak headed talent acquisition, office of CEO & MD. Almost four years into this role came another promotion that elevated him to JGM and head-human resources-L&T NxT.
The year 2021 saw Bikram Nayak move to Mindtree as associate vice president-people function.
His next stop was Empert Consultants, as chief business officer before he took up the role of CHRO, alumina business at Vedanta, working out of Odisha.
In his latest assignment at NCC, Nayak will be responsible for the people function of the construction and infrastructure enterprise. He will lead and drive HR transformation for a workforce that is about 15000-strong, spread across 13 regional offices in the country.
