With Anjali Byce resigning from the CHRO role at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Sitaram Kandi has been picked to play this role starting 1 July, 2026.
Kandi has been with Tata Motors for almost seven years now, having started off as vice president-HR in 2019. He had been heading HR for the passenger and electric vehicle business and leading employee relations and skill development for Tata Motors for well over four years before becoming CHRO in 2024.
Before joining Tata Motors, he was with GE as director-HR, global supply chain, South Asia. For almost eight years he successfully handled end to end HR responsibility for supply chain in South Asia Region with 20+ manufacturing sites. He was a core member of the team that set up the multi-model manufacturing facility at Pune, which was the only plant in the world to manufacture for seven different industries ranging from aviation to power controls under one roof.
An alumnus of Osmania University, he also studied business analysis at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
Kandi began his career as a humble HR executive with Videocon Industries, way back in 1994. He then moved to Bosch India as deputy manager in 1996. He handled all aspects of HR for a workforce of over 3500 at Nashik for well over seven years.
Kandi’s next stop was TE Connectivity where he played senior manager for almost three years.
From 2006 to 2008 he was associated with Monsanto Company as HR lead-West Asia, based out of Mumbai.
September of 2008 saw him heading HR for Fourfront Management Solutions.
In March 2010, he relocated to Oman to play group HR head for Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, handling HR for over 2000 employees across over 16 companies.
It was in 2011 that he came to be associated with GE before moving to Tata Motors in 2019.
Known for his professionalism and ability to motivate people, Sitaram Kandi will continue to contribute to Tata Motors with passion and positive energy.
