Subrat Chakravarty has moved from HCLTech after over a decade of association, to take up the role of CHRO & head of business excellence at DS Group.

This economics graduate completed a PGDPM in Human Resource Development, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the Xavier Institute of Social Service in 1993.

He joined Bata as assistant manager, human resources and managed Kolkata and Bangalore areas for over two and a half years. He moved to Indian Petrochemicals as corporate HRD in 1996. After working out of Baroda for four years, Subrat Chakravarty relocated to Mumbai in 1999. He served as senior consultant, L&T Infotech for a year before switching to Kenya Airways as business analyst in  2001.

His association with HCL Technologies began in July of 2002, as principle-people and technology consulting. Five and a half years into this role, he was elevated to general manager-corporate HR.

March of 2009 saw Chakravarty taking up the role of group manager at Aon Hewitt.  He was back in HCL in October as corporate HR head and head HR (BPO business), working out of Noida.

Birlasoft roped him in for the role of chief people officer in 2013. About two years later, he returned to HCLTech once again for a third stint. He served as global head enterprise HR for a little less than three years. He was promoted to head of HR and global programme director, HR process & technology transformation, in June of 2018.

Now, in his latest assignment at DS Group, he looks forward “to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in this position”.

HRKatha wishes Subrat Chakravarty all the best!
