Over 70,000 employees who were part of SBI, will be impacted by the compensation review.

Between, April 2017 and March 2018, some 18,973 employees had retired. At the same time, the Bank also hired 3,211 employees. 

Employees will now have to maintain a formal appearance appropriate for the workplace setting.

These officers will be hired on a contractual basis for five years, which may be extended, depending upon the performance of the candidate and on the discretion of the SBI

SBI wants its staff to wear formal wear to work and and has therefore, barred them from sporting slippers, shorts, jeans and t-shirts.

The restructuring will save the bank Rs 1160 cr. every year
