BUSY, an accounting and GST compliance software provider for MSMEs in India, has announced the appointment of Gyanendra Acharya as vice president, people and culture. The appointment strengthens BUSY’s HR leadership as the company enters an aggressive scaling phase, deepens its AI-first strategy and builds readiness for growth through acquisitions.

Acharya will lead HR strategy with a mandate to build scalable, playbook-driven people systems that grow with the business. His brief includes strengthening leadership bandwidth across functions, moving HR to a data-first model with clear performance metrics, aligning workflows to an AI-first SaaS organisation, and leading people-side integration and cultural alignment for potential acquisitions.

With over 1.65 crore GST-registered businesses, India’s MSME formal base is expanding fast. BUSY, which recently launched BUSY Magic with AI-powered voucher scan, bank reconciliation and GST Assistant, is now strengthening its talent backbone for that opportunity.

On Acharya’s appointment, Brijesh Agarwal, CEO, BUSY Infotech, commented that as BUSY moves into its next phase, right HR leadership matters as much as product roadmap, and Acharya’s blend of entrepreneurial and HR experience makes him well placed to build a high-performance culture.

Acharya’s career graph spans over 25 years. He started as a senior executive – HR at Techbooks India from January 2001 to February 2003, handling recruitment and HRMS. He then served as officer – HR at Convergys India Services from March 2003 to February 2004, and as a deputy manager – HR at RBS from March 2004 to December 2006, leading post-merger HR alignment and M&A transition.

January of 2007 saw him becoming the director – HR at Hughes Systique Corporation till September 2014, where he scaled the startup from 100 to 1000+ employees across Dubai, Bengaluru and Noida. He then led new projects at Gram Vikas from Sep 2014 to Sep 2015, handling manpower planning for the Rs 2,000 crore World Bank and OSDMA social housing project.

From November 2015 to June 2021, he co-founded Ekistics Solutions in the social sector. Parallelly, from August 2016 till present, he has been co-Founder of VeggieKart Marketing, building it to Rs 40 crore revenue with 25 per cent YoY growth for four years.

We at HRKatha wish Gyanendra Acharya all the best as he continues to scale new heights!
