Google has extended support to Googlers who wish to be parents by expanding their family-building benefits. It has launched the Enhanced Family Building Benefits. What makes this unique? Well, it can be customised to the needs of each individual no matter what their gender, stage of life, sexual orientation or family structure.

As Shraddhanjali Rao, head HR, Google India, aptly puts it, “We are walking alongside our Googlers as they navigate the unknown.”

Going beyond offering financial support, these benefits will allow Googlers to access pre-conception advice (including cycle tracking and understanding conception options) and explore fertility options (fertility preservation, IUI, IVF, and so on)

Under these benefits, Googlers will be able to connect with industry-leading experts for second opinions, receive adoption or surrogacy support, and be assured of their mental wellbeing throughout their parenthood journey.

Birthing support, post-partum help and assistance with feeding are also offered as part of Google’s mission to be there for its Googlers and their partners “in moments that matter”.

Google recognises that the parenthood journey is far from easy and believes and that as an organisation it has a vital role to pay in supporting the partners on this path.

That is why support is offered to those who are thinking of becoming parents, those considering growing their family, and even those trying hard to overcome the challenges posed by parenthood. There is support available for fertility treatments, adoption process and surrogacy. Employees can also access expert care, coaching and advice for the well-being of their own selves and their family.

The company is committed to supporting each employee in being their most genuine selves as they find their way through the various stages of life.

“We want to support every Googler in being their most authentic selves as they build the present and future of their dreams,” says Roma Dutta Chobey, MD, Google India.
