With organisations across the globe investing more in technological upgradation and speeding up digital transformation, there has been a rise in demand for information technology (IT) services and IT professionals. Not only have the big IT companies been offering attractive incentives, bonuses and increments to their employees, they are set to hire about one lakh freshers from campuses this year.

TCS, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Technology together will take on one lakh fresh graduates and IT professionals.

It is not just this hiring spree that makes the outlook bright for the IT sector, but the fact that these IT companies hope to continue this trend of offering attractive hikes and bonuses in a bid to retain quality talent.

Tata Consultancy Services alone is looking at hiring 40,000 freshers in FY2022. This will make its workforce about five lakh strong. Infosys, on the other hand, is planning to take on 26,000 freshers, while HCL Tech will hire about 12,000 freshers in FY22. Wipro is also gearing to hire more freshers than it did last year. It had taken on 9,000 freshers in FY 21.

These IT firms were able to bag great projects and lucrative deals during the lockdown last year, when organisations were forced to shift their operations to the work-from-home mode. This had led to a surge in demand for software that facilitates digitisation.
