Flipkart has declared a company performance bonus multiplier of 105 per cent for 2025, rewarding all eligible employees. The announcement came through an internal email from Seema Nair, chief human resources officer (CHRO), who said the payout reflects Flipkart’s progress in business, operations, finance, and people metrics, along with steady growth toward profitability.
According to the communication, bonus payments for staff at SD and below grades will be made in March. Senior leaders such as vice presidents and senior vice presidents will receive their payouts after the 2025 performance cycle closes. Sources suggest that around 20,000 employees will benefit from this decision.
The news follows recent layoffs at the Walmart-owned company, where about 300 employees were let go as part of its annual performance review. Flipkart has also completed its “reverse flip,” a restructuring move aimed at preparing for its initial public offering (IPO).
Alongside the bonus announcement, Flipkart revealed leadership changes. Nishant Verman has been appointed senior vice president of corporate development and partnerships, tasked with strengthening partnerships and corporate growth. Meanwhile, Sriram Venkataraman, group CFO will step down, with Ravi Iyer, CFO at
Flipkart, taking charge of the broader finance organisation.
The bonus multiplier signals Flipkart’s effort to balance rewarding employees with its push for sustainable profitability and market expansion. Despite recent job cuts, the company is positioning itself for growth, restructuring leadership, and preparing for its IPO while ensuring that a large share of its workforce feels recognised for their contributions.
