    Rachna Kumar takes up VP-HR role at TVS Motor

    Kumar moves from Hero MotoCorp where she has been CHRO for over a year

    After playing CHRO at Hero MotoCorp for over a year, Rachna Kumar has moved to TVS Motor Company as vice president-human resources.

    Kumar had spent over seven years with Whirlpool, before joining Hero MotoCorp as chief human resources officer (CHRO), in January 2024.

    She began her professional journey with Amul, as senior executive in 2000. Three years into this role, she moved to Philips as regional PPS (HR) manager. Three successful years later, in 2007, she joined Castrol as manager – human resources. By 2008, she was elevated to senior manager – human resources, based out of Mumbai. A little less than five years later, she switched to The Coca-Cola Company, as national head – TA, HRBP–corporate functions, zonal HR head–industrial relations, where she worked for almost three years, based out of Gurgaon.

    In 2015, she was back in Mumbai, this time to head HR for the retail operations of Trent (Tata Trend Westside). This was a short stint that lasted less than a year and a half.

    Her next stop was Whirlpool where she joined in 2016, as director – human resources. A year and four months into this role, she was elevated to head – human resources, India. Four years later, yet another promotion in 2022 saw her donning the mantle of head – human resources, Asia.

    A certified professional coach, Rachna Kumar is a science graduate from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Tech. Equipped with a degree in management from IRMA, Kumar has also completed an Organisation Development Certification Programme from the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science.
