Captain Fresh, a global tech-driven seafood supply chain, has appointed Rupali Gupta as its new group-chief human resources officer (CHRO). In this new role, Gupta will oversee people & culture across Captain Fresh’s international offices in India, the US, Europe (Spain, France and Poland), and the UAE.

She will focus on aligning talent-management efforts, driving scalability, and building a cohesive, high-performance organisation across diverse cultures. This strategic move strengthens the company’s leadership team as it accelerates global growth and prepares for its IPO in 2025.

Prior to this, Gupta was associated with Korn Ferry as its senior client partner, Asia Pacific Life Sciences Consulting Leader. She joined the company in June 2023.

With over two decades of experience in HR and consulting, Gupta has worked with many other companies such as Mercer, Mundipharma, Standard Chartered Bank, and Accenture. Her expertise lies in culture transformation, leadership development, and organisational design.

Commenting on her appointment, Gupta shared, “Captain Fresh is scaling rapidly. Maintaining our unique culture with a unified, high-performance team is essential. I’m excited to partner with the leadership team to attract top talent, foster collaboration, and drive success globally.”

Utham Gowda, founder and group CEO, welcomed Gupta to the leadership team. “With more than half our workforce based internationally, Rupali’s extensive global experience will be crucial in strengthening our culture as we scale.”

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Captain Fresh is a tech-enabled seafood player building a global supply chain that connects multi-species supply with multi-geography demand.

An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Gupta holds a BSc in Mathematics from St. Xavier’s College.
